Elected on March 16, 2007, the Chief and Council of the Norway House Cree Nation serve a 4 year term in office. Norway House Cree Nation elects 1 Chief and 6 Councillors.

Shortly after the elections at a duly convened Chief and Council meeting each of the members of Chief and Council are assigned certain departments and areas to oversee or Portfolios. These are in addition to the regular duties they share as a Council in Meetings and the day to day operation of the Chief and Council Office.
