Organizational Chart Staff Roles & Responsibilities
Director of Education The Director of Education is under the supervision of the Chief Executive Officer. The Director of Education manages an effective and efficient operation of the Education, Training and Culture Division. The Director of Education exercises general supervision and administration of all the organization’s affairs. Some of the responsibilities of the Director of Education include: strategic planning and reporting; personnel management; ensuring the fiscal management of the Division is in accordance with the terms and conditions of the funding received; planning and implementing post secondary programs; serving as a NHCN appointed member of the Norway House School Authority; and submitting reports of the operations of the organization for the year and a statement of its affairs. Employment and Training Manager: The Employment and Training Manager is directly accountable to the Director of Education. The Employment and Training Manager assists the Director of Education in the daily operations of the Education, Training and Culture Division. Some of the duties of the Employment and Training Manager include: providing support in the management of division personnel; assisting the Director of Education in ensuring the Division operates in a fiscally responsible manner; acting on behalf of the Director of Education as assigned; making financial and activity reports to the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs as per the Aboriginal Human Resources Development Strategy AHRDS agreement; and planning and implementing training/post secondary programs. Administrative Officer: The Administrative Officer reports to the Director of Education. The Administrative Officer is responsible for assisting the Director of Education in the daily operations of the Education, Training and Culture Division. Some of the duties of the Administrative Officer include: supervising education administrative staff according to the organizational structure; providing administrative support for all Education, Training and Culture Division staff; assisting in the preparation of financial operations; managing and maintaining the Education Division suites; coordinating the general maintenance of the building and van with the assistance from the Building Maintenance Supervisor; providing student support services; and assisting in the preparation of the Nominal Roll. Receptionist: The Receptionist is supervised by the Administrative Officer. The Receptionist provides telephone and secretarial services for the Education, Training and Culture Division. Some of the responsibilities of the Receptionist include: receiving, screening, and referring visitors and calls, taking messages, and providing information; posting advertisements and notices and maintaining the bulletin boards by removing outdated information; and providing secretarial services for all the Education, Training and Culture Division staff (i.e., typing letters, forms, memos and reports). Office Clerk: The Office Clerk is supervised by the Administrative Officer. The Office Clerk is responsible for the filing, copying, and mail services for the Education, Training and Culture Division. The Office Clerk may also act as a receptionist in receiving, screening, and referring visitors and calls, messages and providing information. In addition provide secretarial services as needed and assist the Administrative Officer as necessary. Registrar: The Registrar reports to the Administrative Officer. The Registrar is responsible for maintaining student files. Other duties include: overseeing the admission process by ensuring all documents are submitted to institutions when a student is approved for funding; facilitating the registration applications to institutions ensuring all documentation is submitted with copy in a student file; providing administrative support; liaise with the Post Secondary Counsellors; preparing statistics for annual reports, budgets, and plans; and verifying the Federal student count within the nominal roll and transportation lists submitted by Frontier School Division as well as the Adult Learning Centre. |
