Education, Training & Culture Division
Post Secondary Program

The Education, Training and Culture Division receive funding from different organizations to carry out the everyday responsibilities. Indian and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC) provide funding for Post Secondary Education. The revenue that is received for post secondary from INAC is approximately 1.8 million per year. This amount for post secondary education has been capped for the last ten years, which means we have not received an increase in funding in the last ten years. Although, our student numbers continue to increase with students attending post secondary education outside the community as well as the increase of community-based programming. In the past the Education Division has been resourceful in accessing some funding from other programs such as, the Social Division, Employment and Training, and Keenanow Trust. However, our main sources of funding currently come from INAC and Employment and Training for those students that qualify for Employment Insurance Benefits for their first year of studies.
